With more than a decade of experience as a freelance dramaturg and an established collaborative practice working across screen, stage, poetry and audio storytelling, my approach to dramaturgy is socratic and built on responding to the needs of the work and your continued development as a writer.
My Services
The role of the dramaturg fills the spaces between artistic disciplines, in constant dialogue with the boundaries of the work. The needs of the project determine what dramaturgical support is required, and as a result, I have worked with writers and teams of creatives from the genesis of an idea through to the realisation of that work as a fully staged production.
Script Reading
I can provide a detailed script report for your work, looking at the structure of your writing, how you engage with character, and the strengths of your voice, whether you are thinking of polishing your script, submitting for an award or even if you have just cracked your first draft.
Freelance Dramaturgy
If you require a more rigorous approach, I am available as a freelance dramaturg for workshops, developments and rehearsal processes. This work can include supporting on script rewrites, leading dramaturgical conversations about the material and supporting dialogue between writer, director and the broader creative team.
